We anticipate a full “from the trenches” session given that aggregate issues rarely take a holiday over the summer months. In fact, we are aware of several groups who had significant developments since our July meeting and we look forward to getting a full update from them.
As mentioned previously, we will also be reviewing the OSSGA material from the TAPMO meeting which should make for a lively discussion. We hope to empower members to be able to refute the claims being made by OSSGA.
Planning is well underway for our 2015 Annual Public Meeting. This year’s theme is going to be “Partnering With Municipal Leaders”. Our keynote speaker will be Mayor Ted Comiskey from Ingersoll who has been very supportive of the local communities’ opposition to the proposal to turn a local aggregate operation into a landfill – that’s right a dump!
We will once again be offering groups the opportunity to have a table at the event. Fees are $25 for Community Groups and $50 for Commercial Organizations. Last year’s event was very well attended and it is an excellent opportunity for you to get some practice telling your story to an audience that might just be very receptive to your message.
