NSA: National Stone Association. This is an aggregate industry
association for the US. Their web page says,
"Since its founding, the National Stone Association has
represented the interests of the aggregate (crushed stone, sand and gravel) and
mining industry. Over the years, the collective voice of NSA's membership,
comprised of both large and small firms
nationwide, has proven strong and effective in
addressing legislative and regulatory issues that
impact the industry."
NAA: National Aggregates Association, whose web page says:
"To assist the Association in monitoring and
evaluating federal legislative and regulatory
issues of concern to the industry; to help in
formulating and implementing Association
policy as determined by the Board of
Directors; and to aid the Government
Relations staff by providing specific industry
involvement and assistance with respect to
statements and testimony presented before
congressional committees and federal
regulatory bodies."
NSSGA as of February
2001 is the merger of NSA and NAA above. Their web pages states that
About 10 tons per person of aggregate are used annually in America.
Every lane mile of interstate uses 38,000 tons of aggregate; about 400 tons of aggregate is
used in construction of the average home.
NMA
National Mining Association, whose web page says:
"Establishing a strong political
presence in the Nation's Capital for
the mining industry, including mining
equipment manufacturers and
support services members."
